Joannah Ball, Voice and Piano Teacher
Joannah Ball is an active soprano soloist and teacher of voice and piano. She is passionate about helping students blossom in their love of music and designs music lessons uniquely for each person. Her teaching experience extends to students of all ages in her private music studio. In addition, she has worked as a faculty instructor at Willamette University, North End Music and Performing Arts Center, and Willamette Girlchoir.
Joannah’s singing performance experience includes operatic roles, oratorio performances, and collaboration with colleagues in chamber ensembles and recitals. Roles include Princess Zara (Utopia Limited), Adele (Die Fledermaus), and Despina (Così fan tutte) and scenes from The Mikado, The Ballad of Baby Doe, Carmen, and Hansel and Gretel. Solo oratorio performances include Bach Cantata "Nun komm der heiden Heiland," Vivaldi’s Gloria, and the Fauré Requiem. Her passion for collaboration and innovation has led to performances in chamber ensembles which have premiered the works of composers in Boston and Oregon, such as “Dada Zetu” for soprano, cello, percussion and dancers, by Kevin Joest with choreography by Inés Beaumonte Cosín.
Ms. Ball holds a Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance from Willamette University and a Master of Music in Voice Performance from The Boston Conservatory. Additional training includes Opera Works Winter Intensive and the Advanced Artist program, as well as the VoiceCare Network at St. John’s University.
