Resound NW is seeking a dynamic, talented, and passionate voice teacher to join a growing and vibrant voice studio.
At this time we prefer a male instructor but welcome submissions from any qualified applicant. We also require availability from instructors to teach on weekends (Saturday and/or Sunday).
The ideal candidate meets the following criteria:
Training and Performance
*Holds a degree in music from an accredited college or university - Bachelor's degree required (B.M., B.A., or B.M.E.), Master's degree preferred (M.M., M.A., or M.M.E.).
*Has one or more years professional experience performing as a singer in multiple styles of music.
*Regularly performs as a singer in a way that is exciting and inspiring, displaying healthy vocal technique, passionate communication, and comfort in performance.
*Has intermediate or advanced piano and/or guitar skills, including ability to play melodies, intermediate level song accompaniment, and chord charts.
*Exemplifies strong musicianship, sight reading, and knowledge of music theory.
Teaching Experience
*Passionately agrees with the Resound NW Core Values (see below).
*Has two (2) or more years experience teaching voice lessons, including instruction in vocal technique, song coaching, performance skills, music theory, and ear training.
*Possesses comprehensive knowledge about vocal production and technique.
*Displays confidence coaching students in more than one musical style, such as pop, rock, jazz, classical, musical theater, folk, rap, indie, opera, choral music, sacred music, hip-hop, blues, world music, etc.
*Is open to teaching students diverse in age, gender, and skill levels.
*Is open to teaching as a private instructor and a small group teacher.
Personal Traits
*Is an excellent communicator - friendly, warm, compassionate, good-humored, articulate, and easy-going.
*Comfortable with technology and able to learn new technology quickly.
*Has an innate ability to make students feel comfortable, listened to, and special.
*Operates with complete integrity in interpersonal relationships and finances in the workplace.

Located in downtown Portland, Oregon, Resound NW is a music studio specializing in voice lessons. Students can enroll in private lessons or group classes.
In addition to providing guidance and support for experienced singers, Resound NW holds firmly to the belief that EVERYONE can sing. It is a place for each person to find "the singer within." No experience is necessary to enroll in voice lessons, only a willingness and desire to learn.

*We seek a candidate able to begin by giving at least 2 days (or partial days) a week to teaching, including weekends.
*At this time we prefer a male instructor but welcome submissions from any qualified applicant.
*Lessons are taught at the Resound NW studio in NW Portland.
*Payment is by commission $30+ hour D.O.E.
